It seems that I may have finally gathered sufficient O3 data for this project - and without a delay I put together a bi-colour image of this fascinating area of the sky.
That looks great, one of the better ones of this area. Your stars are so tiny.
Also its one of the first images of this area that shows the neb on the right is in front of the one on the left which I believe is a lot further back.
Yes, these two nebulae seem to blend into each other, and I was not at all aware of the fact that one is way further away from us than the other. Thank you Greg for pointing that out. Hopefully the tri-colour version will show it more explicitly.
Okay, the sky is clear at the moment, so it is time for me to get back to work...
EDIT: I have attached a section of master 3nm Ha (7.5h) and 3nm O3 (9.5h) frames, in case anyone would like to see how they differ.
The long, bright OIII extensions toward bottom right are new to me, because they are out of field for us.
Bravo.
Mike
Thank you Mike. I really like your image of this nebula, so thank you for inspiring us.
I promise I will be more careful not to chop off fainter bits in the final version...

I'm amazed at the quality you are getting from a 4" telescope.
I don't know much about narrowband colour, but your bicolour processing has given it a very nice "natural" look.
Good luck with the final image.
Ross.
Glad you like it Ross. Maybe one day we will move further away from the city so I will be able to try RGB imaging too...at the moment 3nms is the only way for me...
Yes, I quite like my current set-up, but it took me a fair bit of experimentation, including falling into several pitfalls, to finally arrive where I wanted to be with my astro gear, without spending more than I felt comfortable with LOL Perhaps the mount could/needs to be better, but that will need to wait.

Well done.
Thank you David. I also look forward to facing the challenges in combining all three channels...

An absolutely gorgeous image, Suavi...ethereal, ghostly and beautiful. You are very talented! It is humbling to see such stunning images. As I said tonight about another image from this Deep Space collection, I can't begin to understand all of the techno-talk (I am like a chimp trying to understand quantum mechanics), but the end products of all this effort and talent make all of us appreciate this hobby even more. Keep them coming and clear skies.
Yeah raaather nice Suavi As mentioned, some great res in there and the colours look striking. It should get a little more depth and dynamism once the SII and or RGB get added
After three nights I managed to get 200 minutes of decent S2 data...for interested I attached a screen-shot showing various integrations for this filter.

Cheers,

Thank you Richard for such a wonderful feedback. Would be very interesting to have a look at this area on a clear night with your new awesome telescope

Thank you Marc I was tempted to drizzle the subs to squeeze a bit more out of my data, but in the end decided to do a regular registration.

Thanks Jedi Master Mike!
I am in the process of collecting S2; hopefully after tonight I will have sufficient data to go ahead with putting together a tri-colour version.

Thank you Dylan. I also find the "statue" quite intriguing, I hope to capture dynamic nature of this area in my final hopefully soon-to-come version
