We could try to arrange an open mic type event for the Friday evening, with numerous venues around the property.

We could have a shower block quartet, a kitchen ensemble, a comedy store in the new battery charging station, The House Playhouse, moonlight serenades on the main field, something for all tastes.

Well there you go, thought it was the South Pacific Star Party and hence international. Praps it should be retitled to MOSP (members only star party)
Cheers.

It's open to anyone.

The site capacity is 250, hence the limit on registrations.

No-one has ever been turned away.

What's your problem?

I'm always open for honest, robust, factual discussion, and the occasional jibe in good humor.

I'm happy to answer anyone's queries or questions about the running of the ASNSW or the SPSP. Some things may be better directed as PMs though or made official through the contact details on the ASNSW website to the ASNSW committee.

Anonymous trolling doesnt serve anyone.

Oh, a trolling we will go, a trolling we will go, hi ho the merry'O a trolling we will go.

I went once, about 10 years ago,not a great experience.
Definitely not worth the travel from Queensland, home of the best Astrofest in Australia.
Cheers

the site has a capacity for 500 or more the cap is a line drawn in the sand by a tired committee..........that's the problem....anyway lets just see how many traders show up...and how big the door prize list is(fewer people means fewer prizes, fewer prizes means fewer sponsors)
that then becomes everbody's problem

Two poop heads out of 250. Not bad odds.

Well, Qld is not so anonymous, but Dorathy who joined today is obviously trying to hide something.

Why is the number of door prizes and sponsors a critical measure of success and a "problem" if it doesnt meet your expectations?. Do you go because of the number of door prizes?.

Didn't get there last year as I was preparing for the BIG TRIP round OZ but went to the two before that and had a ball. I'll be there again this year. Either go or don't go and if you go and have fun let the organisers know. If you go and are disappointed let the organisers know but do it privately AND have a suggestion as to how you feel it could be improved.

Lots of hard work goes into these things and I for one really appreciate the efforts of the organising committees.

Trevor, I emailed a couple of times throughout the year about the sketching exhibition we were trying to get started again. I didn't get any reply. Are you aware of what's happening with the sketching?
