Tool shop / Engineering Shops in Melbourne?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know a low cost tool making/ engineering type shop that can make adaptors etc in Melbourne?

Really struggling to get some connectors for my camera/filterwheel/coma corrector and hoping that I can have someone with a lathe and thread making machine make some low cost items for me?

Maybe there is someone even here on IIS that can help?

Clear skies,

John K.

Hi Charles,

I potentially need a SCT 2" male to M48 female ring made to attach my Baader Coma Corrector to my filter wheel and then a low profile rotating eyepiece style holder 2" with threaded pins to attach/hold/rotate my CCD Camera to the filter wheel assembly which is also 2" 24TPI

The complication is that the filter wheel has 2" 24TPI threads and only about 1-2mm to play with so needs to be custom made.

Know anyone or can you help?

Thanks,

John K.

Having someone local is always preferred so you can show them exactly what is required. Good luck.
