The problem with the interior is that it will swallow you and never spit you out again

Also, that it is a long way away from where most people live.
I'd wager that the majority of Aussie stargazers are plagued by light pollution to some degree and are regularly driving up to an hour or so to get to darker skies.
Plus, there are only 24 million people here, so the market has to be rather small.
