Ngc253 and M16

I feel this galaxy has been done to death, but its one of my favourites.
I seem to come back to it year after year to see if I can do better.
127mm Apo with QSI 583 camera (L 12x20min+17x10min:R 5x5min:G 5x5min:B 5x5min).
Subs stacked in DSS and Levels and curves in PS3. Unfortunately it looses a lot due to Jpeg compression.

Ive added a monochrome of M16 just for Lewis. This is an easy one to colour - all you will need is a red crayon. Just wanted to bring out the detail and folds in the gas cloud.

Comments welcomed
Allan

Two very tidy shots Allan. Got an M16 in the bag as well. Hope it comes up as well as yours.

No David I was just looking at the stars in my tent. Never seen them so clearly before still thinking of an appropriate response

Nice work Allan. Would be nice to get in a bit closer and see these bigger if possible?
Looks like that 253 is going to be a few notches up on past efforts judging by quality currently visible.

Both great shots Allan,

Ngc 253, in particular, shows plenty of detail in the core

Cheers Geoff

To my eyes, NGC253 has a bit too much blue in the shadows Al.
And no, you cannot do this galaxy to death. It's one of my favourites too.

Thanks Rob, Geoff and JJJ. Have done a new exercise on this in another post. But thanks for the comments.

Been a while since I've used crayons or PS, but thought I'd see if I can bring out some of the red nebulosity for you. Think it came out well. See attached.

I think there is too much green and your stars are oddly fuzzy.

Only the best of the best can recognise such subtle qualities in an image, Peter.
It has a little of the Picasso about it with the faint aroma of raspberries, but maybe that's me.
