One of my wide field targets at AstroFest was the area around Antares, and when I started framing this it looked like I could eek in some of the MW and the Dark River in that area. Such a beautiful area of the sky, I'll undoubtedly return here when time allows for more
Taken with my modded Canon 1100D at 70mm riding atop my EQ6, this is the sum of 16x 5 minute subs at ISO1600, with a bit of teasing, poking and prodding.
So here it is...cramming into 200KB doesn't leave a lot to work with when there are so many stars
That's very nice, I like the framing and lovely vibrant colours too. If you turn it upside down the Antares area and connecting dust bridge looks like a Portuguese man-o-War, or one of those tripods from War of the Worlds

Thanks Mike! I hadn't looked at it that way around until you mentioned it, but you're right...both deadly creatures, scary stuff

Like the colour too.
Nice - Trev
Thanks Trev! I was surprised at how readily it jumped out in processing, and the brown dusty colour too.

Thanks Marc! I'll be going back to this part of the sky for more, it's so rich in jewels.

Awesome shot Dunk. Love the different colours of the nebs against of the dust. Such a beautiful area. Well done mate.
Thanks Rex! Yeah it turned out really well, I was stunned at the colours coming out of it with a little teasing. And such a small chunk of sky around the core MW too
