Oh no not another Eta Carina

I could have handled the stars better, otherwise I'm fairly pleased with my first Eta C with the 10 inch F4. I might do a repo sometime but I'm too tired right now.

129 x 30 seconds, GSO 10" F4 Newtonian, Baader Semi-Apo filter, Baader MPCC MKIII, HEQ5 Pro unguided, Pentax K-5.

Thanks Lewis. Yeah I think I got a pleasing mix of colour in it.

Thanks Rick! I remember my earlier images were all red. But I'm learning to tease out different colours with careful selection of filters / camera combination and processing. Every nebula is different too with a different mix of OIII / Ha which can be balanced. I know you guys are old hands already at this already, but it's fun and sometimes frustrating learning.

It's also a good nebula filter Pat. Blocks UV and IR as well. I find the colour balance of it very good with unmodified cameras.

Thanks Marco! The inbuilt timer only goes to 30 seconds but I just bought a timer remote that will go much longer. Of course then I will need tracking...

Your results are pretty damn good Kevin, considering you use just 30sec subs great stuff

Great colour Kevin!

Real balancing act you have with the 10" on the HEQ pro 5.
I'll be interested to see your results with longer exposures.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Justin. Longer subs won't be happening until NEQ6. I can balance at the moment, but not with guiding gear. That's the straw that broke the camels back.
