Carina repro...

Ahoy comrades!

Yet another repro...I think it was Michael, with his before/now post, who started the current chain of revising, comparing and reflecting on previous work

Anyway, I tried to squeeze out more detail from my previous attempt at the central part of the Carina nebula. While trying to maintain previously used colouration, the aim was to preserve and possibly show more of the faint stuff without too invasive processing. I realise the differences between the two images are quite small...

The new revised version: http://www.astrobin.com/full/141089/E/

And the previous version: http://www.astrobin.com/full/141089/D/

Thank you for looking.
S.

Yep, detail wise, that works for me.
D is visually stronger, but E has more fine structure detail, and is less soft in the densist nebula parts; at least to my eyes.

Nicely done - Trev

Thank you Trevor for taking time to check the new revision. After reading your feedback I have adjusted colours in version E.

I like the detail and contrast of C the best. Add in some of the brightness from E, (simple layer with colour, hue or saturation should work) and it will be spot on.

I guess I like the darker, broody looking stuff. If it is OK, I mixed C and E to my tastes.

Please don't do that Sidonio style again Lewis! I'm nauseous now :-)

Lewis, that first post: , has improved the detail in the centre (white) really well, with an overall feeling of something impending. Felt like I should get the umbrella out, cos it looked like a storm was brewing. I liked it a lot.
This has been an interesting thread (as have othe repro ones), and I hope more people go back to old data now their skills are improved, and present new versions.

Not reeeally my style, I would have had it looking a bit more magenta and upped the saturation a bit .....

I agree, lots of fun and it takes several dozen variations before people start throwing keyboards

Wow these are both great images. The fine whispy nebula is very cool.
