Quick lagoon - revised version(s)

Hi all,

I was out for the Uranus moon occultation so nabbed some lagoon. Could only use half the data for various reasons dew/cloud/focus, but my previous efforts were with serious mini data on a goto dob, so this feels like MEGA data in comparison (not that i've ever gone mega... baby steps).

Hourglass blown out on my dslr but it still has a 3d feel to it. might go back for a NB version at a later date (if the weather ever clears up).

eq8, 3 min subs, cls ccd, ~40 mins

edit: de-greened version https://www.flickr.com/photos/803366...ream/lightbox/

edit again ... ok a third version, i thought the second lost a bit of the colour variation. https://www.flickr.com/photos/803366...blic/lightbox/

Cheers,

Rusty

(and sorry mike i didn't intentionally make this red via processing its just how it ended up ... i assume from using lab mode - i always seem to red clip in there ... no matter the target )

Nice one. All the sharp bits in the right places. Very tidy shot.

Nice one Russ. The image has a crisp feel to it. Not certain of the colour, its too green for my liking. If you drop the green channel using curves you may end up with a more visually pleasing result with some of the blue starting to show through. Comes down to personal taste. I think to get any imaging done in Melbourne has been a challenge of late. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the tip Jase, below is a link with less green and more blue. Might have another go and turn down the vibrancy abit. Fingers crossed weather pics up hey..

(apart from the Red hue) it looks pretty good Russ and I agree with Jase about the green but yes, just getting an image is a good thing
