Thanks for your comments guys.

Yeah Goran I have an Orion mini guide scope.

I'm learning to use StarTools at the moment, playing around with various sliders etc. Still have much to learn. I'll have another go at processing this to remove the gradient and sharpen it a bit more.

All the more impressive Kev,
I've had nothing but flexure and coma spacing issues since I got my 8" F4 using an Orion mini Guider well over a year ago. I was so frustrated, I packed it away and bought another refractor. I just last week picked up an OAG which I hope will help with the flex, just waiting for some clear skies.

Goran.

Thanks Goran.

No problems so far, but that is my first go with it. I also used my new Baader MPCC. Seems to be the correct spacing for my Canon without spacers. I hope you get it sorted out.

Yep this is definitely the most frustrating hobby I've had. With work, family functions, gear problems and bad weather there is not that many nights when I can spend time doing it

Beautiful shot. Tried this one the other night but I didn't even come close to the colors you got.

I had another go at processing this one and think I had a win.

I think the colour is a bit more "natural" and I managed to loose a bit of the noise.

What do you think?

I just had a look at the image on another screen and it looks green - I think my monitors need calibrating

That's a great improvement Kev. The sky is blacker, the nebula shows more detail and colour. Stars have retained their sharpness.

Thanks guys.

I'm slowly getting there. I'm enjoying using StarTools for processing. Still have much to learn but it's better than fumbling around in Gimp like I have been doing.
