Ahoy!

I have just recently 'discovered' this nebula - definitely an exciting DSO and a good project for winter holidays...

Until then...6 subs 15 minutes each (Ha filter)

Higher resolution: http://www.astrobin.com/full/171726/0/

Thank you for looking

P.S. I have found Orion's 0.8 reducer at the bottom of my box with astro stuff and tested in on this nebula - hence the stars are quite distorted in the edges of this image...definitely the reducer is going back where it came from...my currently used TS reducer does a much better job!

Yeah it's a great object Slaw, a favourite of ours really, one of those areas every imager just has to have a crack at...and like M42 (and M8 ) sometimes every year

Great start anyway

Mike

It's funny how I was not aware of this object...well, clearly ignorance is not a bliss...

After rather disappointing weather during Easter school break, I have now a long list of objects to photograph this winter, but I think this one will take priority.

Very nice Slawomir but I feel like I'm falling!!! Its upside down to the usual presentation.

Anything Orion should probably be left in the shop before purchase!

A bit harsh maybe but something sensitive like a reducer its best to stick to high end brands. Televue would be the lowest I would consider: Tak, AP, APM should be fairly safe.

Greg.

Lovely image slawomir.. I love this area, it's great in NB and your detail is very good. I quite like the framing. However if you reframe with the shock front closer to the bottom edge, you will pick up the BiPolar nebular NGC6164 at the top which is pretty cool. Just a thought.

Cheers

Apologies for causing dizziness by presenting the nebula upside down , and thank you all for kind feedback and for your suggestion David.

Nice one Slawomir! Yes it's on my target list also. Probably when it's a bit cooler and I can get the scope outside rather than shooting out the window.

My Orion 0.8x reducer does a pretty good job, but then it's on my ED100 F9 scope so is more forgiving.
