NGC3293 - The Pendant Ha Blend update

I found some time to go back to this and had a go at a Ha combine in PI using some pixel math. Whilst I seem to have misplaced the blue in the larger stars (I know I left it somewhere) I was quite impressed with how the star colour in the smaller stars was retained using this process. I will probably go and get some shorter subs for the main stars at some point though.

I also cropped the image to focus on the cluster itself which is in the corner of Gum 30 hence the nebulosity.

Thanks JB. I quite like clusters which can be a bit of a challenge with a non anti-blooming gate CCD

Hi Allan. An upgrade to the focuser and bobs knobs for secondary collimation, a set of counter weights and everything in the imaging train is screw threaded but other than that it's an out of the box GSO. . This is at native focal length and no flatteners are in the way but there is a pretty hefty crop here so you aren't seeing the outer 15% which is where there is the normal curvature given the chip size.

Wow - you're doing well as some people have seriously modified the GSO RCs to get pics like yours.

Thanks, but this is the 8. I think the larger ones can be a bit more of a challenge by all accounts. The game changer for me though would have been the OAG and of course the mount helps quite a bit.

I am though really pleased with the setup. It's been 15 months of faffing about getting things from software through to hardware right and it's nice to just to be able to get on with gathering the photons.

Very pretty, David. Restoring the blue to the bright stars would add a little zing too.

Such a great cluster that one Dave, lovely shot of it, yeah I guess since the cluster is the hero of the image and it is not a narrow band image it could probably benefit from getting some colour back in to the stars but it's still pretty nice as is

You've done so well.
That's an unbelievable pic from a GSO.
I have a GSO 10" f4 Newt. mirror that's a dud.
I suppose some people can be lucky.

Thanks Rick. The cluster is still around this month so will be be looking to reshoot the rgb, weather permitting.
