Here's another one that could do with a lot more data but the weather isn't helping. This is just a simple HaOIIIOIII of NGC 2736 (the pencil nebula). I'll add more data and RGB stars when I can.
Although I have always found this object a little boring (sorry, not your fault) this is never the less coming along nicely Steve it should spark up with some more exposure of course
How annoying is the weather here lately? I ummed and ah'd about going out to Wallaroo on Sunday night because it looked ok at sunset even though the reports were for a partly cloudy night (annoying for imaging)... sooo, I decided not to and prayed I had made the right decision, or I would be miserable ...well, it did turn out to be clear until 11pm or so here huh? But I didn't feel too bad...until my observatory landlord informed me the next day that it was still crystal clear out at Wallaroo when he was walking the dogs at midnight and looking up at the Milky Way thinking wow look at that!..I wonder where Mike is?
That's looking really good already Steve. Well done.
Thanks Marc

Thanks Mike. I actually like this object and am using the recent ESO picture of it as one of my wallpapers. Probably wouldn't put it in my top 5 though. The weather is very annoying but I can absolutely guarantee it will be crystal clear from 1-10 March because I will be in New Zealand then. Of course it's also full moon.
This could be quite and interesting looking image with more data and maybe a slightly different colour scheme. I like the detail you have obtained so far.
Looks pretty good, Steve, but it appears to be a difficult object to do really well.
Cheers,
Rick.
Thanks Rick. It just needs plenty of exposure.

Thanks David. It's part of a supernova remnant so I suspect there are plenty of complicated electric and magnetic fields going on there doing the shaping.
Processing on this is very good. I found it a nightmare with NB, other RGB examples always looked better. Youve rendered this very well indeed, most attractive.

Thanks Fred. It's not an easy one. If the weather ever clears I plan to take a lot more Ha, possibly binned 2x2, to fill in the faint background. Martin has a FSQ106 APOD version which shows this very well. Weatherzone is showing it might be clear tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath.
