For sale is a GSO Carbon Fibre RC8 fitted with a Moonlite Crayford focuser.
Also for sale is a Takahashi Collimating Scope.
I got this scope a while ago but I never really had the time to get it setup properly. I spent a couple of nights trying to collimate it and, while I got it close, I never got it perfect. After buying the Tak collimating scope I realised that it's an older model and so it didn't have a centre spot on the secondary. So I very carefully and precisely made a tiny mark in the dead centre of the secondary and now judging by the view through the Tak collimating scope I believe the secondary mirror holder isn't exactly in the centre of the tube, which would explain why I could get close but not perfect when trying to collimate on a star.
Anyway that's where I left it, I've been meaning to get back to it but I haven't had the time plus I'm really happy with my current imaging setup so haven't had the need to get this one up and running.
The mirror surfaces look like they're in good condition as does the body of the scope with only a few minor cosmetic blemishes.
The scope also comes with an aluminium case, which has seen better days but is fine for transport and storage, plus Bobs Knobs. I'll sell the scope (with Moonlite)+case+Bobs Knobs for $500.
I'll sell the Takahashi Collimating Scope for $180.
* SALE PENDING *
And I'll sell the Losmandy counterweight thing (this one: http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories...oductview.aspx) for $40 plus I'll throw in a couple of cheap weights that I needed to use with this to balance the scope with my camera.
I'll sell the RC8 plus the Tak Collimating Scope for $620. Postage will be extra. Inspections are welcome if you're around the eastern subs of Sydney.
EDIT: everything is now pending sale, thanks.
