We all survived!!!

Although a bit dramatic sounding I am glad to announce that we all survived!

In this instance the "we" is me and my two sons...let me explain...

My wife is returning home this morning (we are in fact getting ready to go get her at the airport) from a trip overseas to attend her Grandmother's 100th Birthday party. While this is a story itself as she is a remarkable women (her Grandmother...okay my wife too but in this instance I was referring to her Grandmother) as she is still fit and spry walking daily and swimming when the weather and water are fit...simply amazing to me.

Anyway, she has ben gone for a week so I've been playing at two jobs..."Mr Mom" and MD at work...the boys were great help at home and "allowed" for me to get things done (differently of course than Mom)...the folks at work were good too (not causing too many troubles) during my short days.

I truly do not see how a single parent without additional child care (including extra family) can make it all happen...between school, rugby training and trying to complete our next mid range financial plan at work I am completely exhausted...

I tip my hats to those folks who do this an a regular basis...I can do fine at "Mr Mom" or fine at work but performing at a high level both places would kill me

Anyway, we need to get to the airport...but not before finishing the laundry, packing school lunch and getting everyone in the right uniform...(I sure hope it is not sport day as that uniform is not clean )

My wife is now back home and I can thankfully return to my state of blissful ignorance with respect to many of the household chores...

It's not easy, I do it with 4...3 @ school..1 @ kindy and fit in what work I can , it boils down to a case of just doing it for them.

Good to see you survived Scott

I did that once, many years ago, packed the missus off overseas for 2 weeks for her Sisters wedding, I was smart though, I took 2 weeks holiday....
