2.3M Sirius Dome Observatory

I have for sale a 2.3M Sirius dome observatory. It comes complete with a fully fitted dome rotation kit with solar charger and rechargeable battery.

The dome is currently set up on a deck in my backyard in Mt Beauty and the purchaser would need to come up to Mt Beauty with either a removal van or a large trailer and pull it apart so they know how to put it back together.

It has two storage bays in the side of it as well but does not have electrically operated shutter. The rotation kit is the Max dome kit sold by Sirius Observatories

New price for this is dome $10110 plus delivery from Queensland and the rotation kit is $3321. I have it for sale as is and you remove for $7000. Now $6500

I will post some photos when it stops raining.

Mt Beauty is about 1 hr drive east of Albury near the Vic NSW border. A long way from you.

How good is this in protecting you gear against high winds and heavy rain, like the storm we recently had here in sydney?

That is the best of this sort of dome. I have never had a problem with rain getting into the dome while the shutter is fully closed. By default wind just blows over the top of the dome. I have it screwed down to a treated pine deck using 2 screws per section and a fillet of silastic to seal the base around the deck and it has never moved. The dome itself is fitted to the base using a locking roller system but can also be tied down if you think it is required.

it breaks down into 6 side panels 2 have storage boxes moulded into them and one has a door. The roof splits in half after the shutter has been removed and then there is lots of smaller bits and a good bag of bolts.
Some of these bits are quite large, particularly the two dome sections. It all came on an 8.5 foot square Pallet and was pretty tightly packed at that.

You have me sold. It would just be a matter of arranging a suitable time to come up to Mt Beauty and sort it out. What would be the best way of speaking to you direct
