8" Bintel Dobsonian BT-202

I bought this 8" f/6 dobsonian second-hand just over two years ago. I had cleaned the mirror as per this link http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=88036

After that it has been working well, but I just didn't use it much. I got it out to watch the lunar eclipse a few days ago. The dob has a red-dot finder with a new CR2032 battery (I forgot to turn it off after the eclipse). The 2" focuser also has a Bintel 1.25" to 2" adapter with a T2 thread - no eyepieces included. As with most dob's, it can use a bit of weight at the top.
$180 and its yours - pickup from Dundas, NSW.

Alternatively if someone is wanting a 8" dobsonian base, make me an offer!

Still available. Anyone in Sydney or nearby looking for a dobsonian? It fits fairly easily into most small cars, certainly it fits in my old Honda Civic. The base is 51cm in diameter and about 65cm high and weighs about 10kg. The newtonian tube is 115cm long and weighs about 9kg.

Price reduction - $180 for the lot

If anyone is interested in the 8" dob base only, I can remove the altitude bearings from the scope and sell the base by itself for $40 plus shipping (collect preferred).

OTA can be mounted easily onto any equatorial system by adding tube rings and a dovetail. Just need to cover the four holes left by the altitude bearing bolts. $150 for the OTA - pickup preferred. PM me, this needs to go.
