Had six nights of clear sky at the farm. While waiting for galaxies to come up, added another 3 hrs of H-alpha to an old favourite. Total over 10 hrs. Full size image here. Notice the "Reluctant Parachutist", a tiny bok globule to the right of the Pillars, in the form of a side-on silhouette whose parachute has failed to open properly. Yellow: H-alpha, Aspen 16M 3x1hrs + STL-11000M 3.5hrs. Blue: OIII, STL only, 4hrs. Fiercely difficult to bring out faint background features without reducing contrast in the brilliant material evaporating from the tallest of the three pillars, or losing overall balance between bright and dark. Here is a compromise.
