Excellent image Rick.

You got good contrast and very nice colors.

Did you add some articial spikes?

Geert

Look at that resolution!
Nothing like skill and quality equipment.

Thanks, Justin! The gear and the site make me look good

That is exactly the same rig I have except I am not at 4000m. I have been considering a remote setup in the SRO for the last 6 months, this image is not helping me say no to that idea.
Thanks, Paul! It's nice to have seeing that's better than the resolution of the gear for a change. I'm hoping we'll get a long FL instrument on that mount at some stage.

Thank you, Rob. The big image is 64 megapixels as a result of the drizzle so bringing them down to 200kB isn't going to provide a good representation.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with those other northern targets.
Thanks, David! I'm just putting the final touches on the Wizard Nebula and I have several more queued up.

Thanks, Geert. I didn't add any spikes. I think what you can see on a few of the brighter stars is from the microlenses on the KAF-8300 sensor. I have a Starlight Express camera with the same sensor that also does this.

Just reading about drizzle today, understand what you're saying about images being 4 times bigger. Looks like a great addition to PI, and certainly put to great use on this one Rick.

Thanks, Rob. It works really well with 1 arcsec seeing at SRO

It's not always that good, Mike. Sometimes the seeing gets as bad as 1.5 arcsec
