Arthur of course there will be plenty of 'babysitters' for your scope.

Well a week out now. Hopefully there is time for the weather to improve. I noticed overnight that there had been less rain than expected out Gloucester way (20mm in the last 24 hrs), compared to the rain on the coast. Looking at the radar a couple of times last night there was nothing showing so that's good for keeping the site reasonably dry. Fingers crossed. Any Seven Timer news?

Weather

Been watching the home weather station ( albeit coastal) with the humidity in the nineties and the barometric pressure dropping from a nice 1030 kp a all last week to a lousey 1004 over the weekend this week looks horribly wet for the duration.

Currently it has rise to 1010 so it's got a long way to go before my telescopes going to see the dark of night. I just don't have a big enough rain coat for it.

Will be watching the weather like a hawk for the next few days, please keep me informed if there is any new news around the Gloucester area usually find that some degree of the coastal weather filters to the west, it's just a matter of how much

Arthur with week to go till the New Moon I am still optomistic that some of next week will be useful. Its true that looking (or hearing) the rain hitting the coast tonight, it would be easy to imagine a muddy disaster, but a couple of sunny days and she'll be right. You might need the gumboots though if the cows have been in that part of the reserve.

Just further on the recent weather at Bretti, I consulted the Bureau of Meterology page on rainfall figures for the last 24 hours. Bretti only had 1mm of rain in the 24hours to 9am today, Gloucester had 3mm. If you'd like to monitor this just go to this page:

http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/flood/midnorth.shtml

Each of the little dots is a reporting station, and you can find Bretti and Gloucester easily by placing your cursor on the blue dots around the Manning area.

So regardless of what is happening on the coast it is not necessarily an indicator of what conditions will be like at Bretti.

By Saturday we should have a much better understanding of what conditions will be like in that area for much of next week.

Yeah, the rain does tend to be more coastal, than inland.

I hope you guys can get a dry week in. And hopefully it translates to similar results at the PC, too.
