Mars Stationary Tonight - What Tracking?

So since Mars will be stationary in relation to us tonight does that mean it will appear stationary against background stars and thus require Sidereal tracking on the Goto mount or is it still planetary?

I honestly didn't know that "planetary" rate was an option...
Sidereal rate will work well.
(Edit: Just checked my Synscan manual - it only lists options for Sidereal, Lunar, and Solar rates.....)

The EQ6/NEQ6 SynScan doesn't have a "planetary" rate; just sidereal, lunar and solar.

If you drive the mount through EQMOD, then I don't know. Maybe?

(Edit: Just saw Ken's edit ...)
