Thumbs up Memories of IISAC2014 - timelapse

Hi all

This timelapse features sequences captured at IISAC2014, the IceInSpace Star Party, held at Lostock in the Hunter Valley of NSW in April 2014.

Watch in HD on Vimeo

Yes, it's only May and I've already finished it! That's quite an achievement given it took me almost 18 months to complete the IISAC2011 timelapse and almost 12 months to complete the IISAC2013 version.
I had to strike while motivation was high

Cameras used: Canon 6D, Canon 5D Mark 2
Lenses used: Samyang 14mm, Nikon 14-24mm, Canon 50mm

Vixen Polarie used for panning in some of the sequences.

Music: Life's things by Mind Things
Processed in LRTimelapse and Lightroom. Movie put together in Windows Movie Maker.

For the sequences floating down the creek, we found an inner tyre sitting on the bank and used duct tape to secure the GoPro in place, and sent the tyre down the creek

Watch in HD on Vimeo

Thanks for looking!

If that doesn't get you more attendees, nothing will

Great sequence, interesting to watch and something a little different to simply the usual Milky Way rising and fast moving clouds - really enjoyed it.

Got your push ups in too I see...

Mike

I especially liked the music changes at critical times in the video. Excellent.

Thanks Rod - the foreground of that one is probably a bit darker than I wanted but it came out ok with the panning.

Thanks Mike - I hope it shows people what a star party can be like.
Appreciate the feedback too - was going for something a bit different and hope it worked.

Thanks Dave - I'm enjoying the timelapses at the moment and finding my rhythm with pulling the scenes together. Using Windows Movie Maker instead of Sony Vegas made a big difference. It's actually so much easier and more enjoyable.
