The Southern Cross,

Captured this image last night of the Southern Cross and Coal Sack.

I ordered some thin high level cloud and it came just at the right to nicely diffuse the brighter stars and show there colour.

18x300 second subs at ISO 800, whit a Canon 1100D and 85mm lens at F4.

Larger image Here.

Cheers
Jo

Isn't it obligatory to shout, "Australia, Australia, you f...... beauty!" at moments like these?

That is a nice shot. The multiple spikes on the stars are wonderfully symmetrical and a really nice effect.

Ha ha, the spikes are from the aperture blades in the lens.
