Mars & Saturn 29th March LT

Hi everyone

Here is an image of Mars taken this morning in good seeing. In fact the best seeing that I have had for a while.
I've got a lot of data to get through...you've got to make the most of it when its there.....

Also attached is a shot of Saturn with the same good seeing. A little disappointed that the Hex storm didn't turn out more more prominently, but I've got Enkes gap a fair way around & I could always process the image a bit harder to show the storm better & I could boost the color more, but what is presented here is pretty close to the eyepiece view for me..

Looks like the seeing was excellent last night and that both you and Stefan got some great images!!!

What a fantastic set Maurice! Love the restrained processing, less is indeed more sometimes. It's becoming a trademark of yours. I know how hard is to get that natural look and keep all the details; simply splendid.

Good seeing does make a big difference.
You may have missed it last night Bratislav, but I'm sure that there will be more to follow soon (we get at least a few more nights a year like that)....

I have been waiting for good seeing but just get variable seeing. Banding around Saturn is coming out now with your better conditions.

I think that if you push the saturation on the Saturn image, the hexagon will reveal itself much more. There is not much brightness difference between the hexagon and its surroundings - its shape is revealed by the colour difference.

The Mars shot is great and that Saturn image looks so much like I remember seeing it through the 9" Oddie refractory at Stromlo on a night of very good seeing many years ago...this image is about as close to an excellent eyepiece view (as opposed to the more traditional simulated space craft type view) that I have seen - lovely
