New Lunt gear and first proper images ....

Afternoon Solar imagers,

I very recently decided to augment my deep space imaging with a solar setup. We have been having such a poor time with winter weather here in the UK I thought I needed to take advantage of day time hours. The kit I decided on and bought was as follows :

- Lunt 60THa pressure tuned
- Double stack
- B1200 blocking
- DMK41
- Lunt zoom eyepiece
- 0.5 reducer (to produce full disk on the DMK41)

Here is one of the first images I have produced so far. None ideal conditions as it is winter here in the UK and the Sun is very low at the moment. This image was a two pane Mosaic. I was very lucky to capture the big prom top right and then isolate in the second image.

Images captured on the 15th Jan 2014 at about 10am GMT. Processed in PixInsight and Photoshop CS5 ext.

Hope you like .....

Clear skies,

Dave

Thank you David, John & Ted

Nice to get some feedback, for some reason didn't get email prompts
that anyone had replied .... odd

Yes Ted I have joined the Solarchat forum and have posted but it's always nice to keep the 'smaller' sections of other forums stocked up to

Weather hideous here at the moment with wind, storms and loads of rain. Not much danger of getting outside never mind imaging .... the time will come though !

Clear skies,

Dave
