Camera

Hi,

I have an Olympus TG-2 that I'd like to connect to the 12" dob. It has a 10:1 crayford focuser 2" I believe. Just wondering if anyone with camera knowledge knows if I need a T2 adaptor and step up/down rings, or anything else?

Cheers

I Googled your camera and like my TG-810 it appears to be a fixed lens compact camera. So you will not need a T2 adapter as there is nothing to fit it to. With this type of camera you are limited to Afocal photography by putting the camera behind the telescope eyepiece. I personally haven't had much luck with this type of photography but there are examples on this site of those who have. Good luck.

If the camera has a filter thread on the front of the lens you may be able to get step u or down adapter rings to build it up to T2. If you can you can then look at some of the eyepieces and eye piece adapters that allow you to do afocal photograpghy via a camera attached with a T2 adapter.
