How many are imaging with an LX200 F10

I own and have a Meade LX200 GPS 10" F10. I love the scope and have been imaging with it over the last few years. Am I lost in a time warp or are thier still others that image with these scopes on this site?..

I don't seem to see too many ref to these scopes on this site and just wanted to see if this is the case or if there is still a collection of us stillusing them.

I have the scope, but I need to upgrade my camera.

The 20D is ok, but without Live View, I have trouble locating sharper focus.

I love my Meade, and have no intention of changing. Except maybe to a bigger Meade!

I have an LX200-ACF 10" on an NEQ6 Pro and plan to image with it (for planetary with a Powermate 2.5x and, later, with a focal reducer for DSOs, when I get that far) ....

.... but I haven't graduated beyond my ED80 yet.

The LX200-ACF is a nice 'scope when properly collimated.

Hi Mardy

I have an LX200R 12" and have never been more pleased with it.

Like Shane I need to upgrade my CCD camera but even that is still doing a great job and I really can't fault that either.

Cheers

I've had my LX200-ACF 8" for just over a year, absolutely love it.

It's regularly used for planetary and DSO imaging with the help of a focal reducer (Astro-Physics CCDT67 reducer works with the coma free optics).
Current plan is to get an equatorial wedge and a MoonLite focuser for it soon, alongside upgrading to a new DSLR from my D3000.

Mee Too

See, there are heaps of us... I have a split personality and we both use the scope. LOL

I love my scope. I have the 10" GPS version.
Mainly use the 6.3 focal reducer for wider and faster but f10 now and again. I use a Milburn wedge, Moonlite focuser and have the Orion st80 short tube with a Qhy5 mono for guiding. I have made an automatic dew heater controller, a power thigamy where I have 4 different voltages available for all the bits on the tube and also the Moonlite controller all mounted on the tube so only need 2 cables, 1 for power and a USB. Just need more clear still nights.

Great post, as I was only thinking about this exact thing yesterday about how many IIS users ther are.

Go the Meade. I guess if I was to get another scope, I would keep this as well.

Damien

Not for imaging but for Spectroscopy.
The SCT is still the "weapon of choice"
I used a 8", 10" and 12" Lx200 (at f10) on a HD wedge and cut-down HD tripod for MANY years.
I now use a C11 (Why? Well the Meade 12" OTA was tooooo heavy to be mounted on a NEQ6pro mount! and the C11 was the compromise)
I only changed to the EQ mount to give more sky coverage for the rear mounted spectroscope ( It didn't easily fit between the forks and the base)
