A quick and dirty shoot between chicken and eta carina

Lots of little goodies between the IC2944 chicken and NGC3372 eta Carina neb (out of frame). From the upper left is NGC3530, lower right a bit a little neb NGC3572, just to the right is cluster NGC3590, lower right neb NGC 3603, above that NGC3576.

This is a work in progress being only 4 x 5 minute subs, but we're forecast cloud for the next forever so I don't know when I'm going to add to it again. 10 hours of data I would like, but in Mackay - hahahahah! Not likely. Ever.

Framing could be better too with NGC3503 in the extreme upper left corner. But in general I'm happy because with my new old Nikon full spectrum camera I can actually record nebula in summer at 30C! Something my old unmodded Pentax would not do!

Details - Kson ED80 at F5.5, full spectrum modified Nikon D70s, 4 x 5 minute subs at ISO400.

Good luck with the autoguider acquisition! And yes these would look great imaged through an 8 inch scope I reckon. You will have to take some nice closer pics of it for me Jo!

In spite of weather forecasts for storms, I managed to get more data. In total for the latest is 32 x 5 minute subs all manually guided (groan). I need to get autoguiding setup one century. Not that much more detail but the image is less noisy.

A bit biggerer image at astrobin. http://astrob.in/full/71428/0/

I tried SMC, now I am trying LMC, and when Eta is in good position I will try that region. You did it first !
In March, 2013 I tried the periphery of ETA, with objective to shot details of the clouds, but it was not a serious work.

I love unusual objects. I feel they have much subtle beauty. Go ahead, and show me what I can find there.

You'll have to try these with your 12" Jorge! They are brighter than I expected them to be, with NGC3576 being the brightest and it also has a lot of detail in deeper images.

Very nice image of this action packed area. Especially NGC3576 is a spectacular nebula, great choice of target. It's on my todo list as well.

Thanks Rolf and Bob. NGC3576 has some amazing structure in big scope photos. Curtains and pillars that look a lot like the star queen. Can't wait to see you shoot this one Rolf.
