Top three rock classics...

3. Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock...

2. Led Zeppelin's movie The Song Remains The Same...

1. Dire Straits DVD.

I'd put seeing Dire Straits perform live in Sydney in 1986 at #1 (I was quick enough to score tickets) but the recording (there is one, of the final performance) is rare and the commercial DVD is better.

Bon Jovi "Livin on Prayer"

Bon Jovi "It's my life"

Queen " Bohemian Rhapsody"

Scorpions "Wind of Change"

Elvis Presley "American Trilogy"

Wow, this is difficult.
1. Dream On - Aerosmith
2. No Quarter - Led Zeppelin (the version from The Song Remains The Same soundtrack is amazing).
3. Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones
And many more.

I was there, too! Best sound at a concert that I've heard. Pretty good performance as well.

Top three? That's hard. So many great ones, and it changes with mood. So, today, without much thought:

1. Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody (actually, Queen could pretty much take the top three by themselves)
2. Led Zeppelin, Stairway to Heaven
3. Cold Chisel, Khe Sanh

And honourable mentions to AC/DC, It's a Long Way to the Top and Guns 'n' Roses, Sweet Child o' Mine.

Edit: Woohoo! One thousand (utterly cr*p) posts!

All right - I'm in.

Not an easy task as I think just about everyone else has said. For my Australian top 3 rock songs, in no particular order and boy did I leave a heap of others out!

1. Choir Boys - Rendezvouz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph-U2lLpITU

2. The Angels - Am I Ever Gonna See You Face Again? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7kYVjL2lps

3. Dragon - Young Years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eOcrfRa1Fw

(I know - theses guys are Kiwis - but what the hey!)

My last choice is probably a little lite for a rock song but it's still one of my favorites. I spent 25 yrs playing these songs and many more like them as a DJ at a skating rink in Melbourne through the 80's, 90's and 00's and there was only ever one way to play them - loud.

PS For at least ten of those years the Angel's song was banned from family sessions. I wonder why? ;-)

Paul

PPS

How about these three for 'lite' rock

1. Russell Morris - Wings Of An Eagle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzZXKdY50y0

2. Ross Ryan - I Am Pegasus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFXYj...9C82E336AEE6F0

3. Paul Kelly - Leaps And Bounds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9cTVJtsS9c

Ok I'm officially a little misty eyed here, time to put together a playlist for old time's sake
