Brisbane photo opportunity – Myer Xmas Parade and Gold Lotto Light Show

Under the title of “Christmas in The City ... Discover the Magic” Brisbane is hosting a number of events that may be of interest to forum members who live in the area. We drove there last night (Wed) for a peek at these activities and were very surprised at how entertaining they were.

The main events we saw were the Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime and the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular. Well worth a visit.

Cheers

Dennis

If anyone is planning to take photos, make sure your technique is good or have some fast glass, as I found myself shooting handheld (no way a tripod could be used) at 1/8 sec, ISO3200 at F4 towards the latter part of the evening.

Nice pics as usual Dennis, but you missed my wife in the parade. She was walking beside the bed, or rocking around the tree - can't remember which she was doing on Wed.

Here we go David – one of the Sleeping Beauty bed. It was difficult shooting with so many arms with iPads and iPhones hanging out in your face as everyone was trying to capture the moment!

Cheers

My favourite part of the parade was Mary wearing fancy thongs and leggings whilst on the donkey - see attached...

Hello, David

We were very impressed with the passion and intensity of the singers, artistes and thespians who really put their heart and souls into the procession. Please pass on our thanks to your lovely wife and her colleagues for entertaining us on a balmy Brisbane evening!

Cheers

Dennis

I think that the Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime runs until Sunday whereas the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular runs until Christmas Eve.

Well worth a visit, a real family event.

Cheers

If my kids would hurry up and have kids of their own then I'd have a perfect excuse
