Canon 20D

Hi all

I have had a few windfalls of late , one is a free 20D in full working condition with external power supply.

Is this specific model any good ,and is it worth spending money to build a peltier cooling box for it ?

I do not have a nose piece adapter nor canon lens , so I am unable to test it yet.

Any plans tips etc. are welcome.

Thanks for your time.

Andre

IIRC no LiveView and only 6 megapixels ( I think ). One advantage of the Canons IMO is the Live View option and the 20D lacks that.
Minimal model for LV is 450D I beleive.
Canon experts may provide more and better info.

The 20D at a cost of nothing is certainly a nice windfall too have.
Many moons ago Canon released the 20Da which was the original astronomy aimed camera and while at the time it was the bees knees it has certainly been outclassed by nearly every Canon since.

The no live view can be an issue as well but it won't stop the camera from working, you just need to spend a bit more time making sure the focus is right.

I have no idea about cooling box's but at the very least you could do that as good practice. It's still a perfectly usable camera.
