Quick snaps of HD134959

Red Marker - HD 134959 is a blue supergiant star in the constellation Circinus. It shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 8.11. HD 134959 is the primary component of a multiple-star system. Other objects include HD 135380 in green and HD134917 in blue.

1. This image is a combination of approx 3 images taken using red data only since I forgot to rotate the filter wheel.
2. Distance to HD 134959 is 3980pc which is approx 12,981 light years
3. Taken using QHY9M under the bright waxing gibbous.

I've been into astronomy since 2009 and its been a roller-coaster ride to get where I am now. Still a lot of things I need to learn and fix but I'm getting there slowly. Nothing special about this image I basically pointed at a random spot and took a few images and ran astrometry to get the star details.

The universe is interesting wherever you look.

Take care!

Yugant - interesting facts...
Have you misaligned the subs somehow? it seems every bright star in the image has a 'shadow star' just below it, as if a frame is out of alignment with the others...

Give DeepSkyStacker a go. It's free and does a pretty good job at stacking star fields and such. It's also pretty intuitive to use.

Cheers,
Cam
