Lambda Centauri Nebula and Jewel box
Had a great night imaging last night....
I had some problems with some light reflection from the neighbors house but otherwise I had a ball.
The lambda was 8 x 4 minutes guided shots at ISO800
The Jewel box was 10 x 60 seconds guided shots ISO800
Had to crop them severely due to bad vignetting from one corner the flat's didn't get rid off.
Taken with the 20DA on a C11
Lambda was taken with the UHC-S filter
No filter for the Jewel Box.
You know how I process them.
Hope you like them.

Tony,
Both wonderful images.
I love the soft diffraction spikes in the Jewel Box.
I was looking at that for a long time from a friend's place last night. It's probably my favourite cluster.
Well done.
Regards,
Humayun

Thanks guys.
It's nice to be back imaging....I have most of the problems worked out..still a few a head of me though.
I'm enjoying getting defraction spikes of the Celestron C11" SCT...just using fishing line atm.
I wanted them to be suttle and not over powering.

Nice Work Tony
Your Lambda is Sooo much better than my last attempt:

If I was to look with a critical eye (who me?
), the jewel box may be missing a little colour and the background is a little dark for my taste. Having said that, it is a fine image.

I suspect that it was your neighbours light rather than your flats not working. You can check this by stretching one of your flats to see where the dark areas are. My guess is that they will be fairly even. You can remove most of these strange gradients with software such as ABE or gradient exterminator. If you know what you are doing you can do it with Photoshop too.
Again, well done
Cheers

Thanks Tony....
I will take that onboard....I also consider the Jewel box image to be too dark.
So without saying your right Tony I will just agree with you...lol

Hi Tony,
That is one very nice picture of the Running Chicken Nebula, just enough FOV to get the lot, great focus and contrast, the Bok Globules stand out well also, keep em coming.
cheers......Jim
