Milky Way and LMC

I was lucky enough to get this shot earlier this year while on the way to Sydney. It was taken on the outskirts of Wagga.

Hey Ingrid, nice shot. Do you have any more details about the settings/camera used for this shot? Is that light pollution creating the yellow cast? If it is you have pulled a lot of info out! Just that I'm interested to see if this gradient removal technique would work on this image to remove the yellow cast.

Thanks, Jason. I used a Nikon D5100 to take this. Settings were ISO3200, f.5.6, 30 secs with 20 mm focal length.
I have different versions of this image and alternatively used PS, Corel, Snapseed and Photogene to try and get as much as I can out of it.

The yellow cast is light pollution from the city of Wagga.

I hope you don't mind, I was intrigued to try the technique. It would work a lot better on the original high resolution file, a lot gets lost working from the posted image.

I used a program called Snapseed to get a similar result.
Thanks for the tips and encouragement.
I'm going to try and get some LMC images tonight, weather permitting.

Yeah that's more of what I was expecting to see with the gradient removal technique applied to this image. Nice work

I was lucky to get the HST last night, in spite of cloud cover.
Not the greatest photo, but at least I got the double.
