...here is another picture from my vacation in the Alps in August 2013. The picture is my 2nd experiment with PixInsight. I did not use Photoshop this time. I wanted to show the inside details because they are actually not often shown on most images in the web due to heavy sharpening and saturation.
For this reason I have used no saturation and only slightly sharpened the image. I litte bit more would destroy the fine details.
Equipment: Skywatcher AZ-EQ6 Mount, 8" Newton Telescope NK900 (1040mm), Canon 600D(a)

Messier M27:
The Dumbbell Nebula (also called Messier 27, or NGC 6853) is a 7.5 like bright planetary nebula with a surface area of 8' 0 x 5', 7 in the constellation Vulpecula. In binoculars it is just seen. A telescope shows additional structures. The central star is a white dwarf of 14 mag and a temperature of about 100,000 Kelvin. The distance is about 1,400 light-years. The nebula expands with 6.8 arc seconds per century. The Dumbbell Nebula was discovered by Charles Messier on in July 1764.
