Spectacular indeed! Thanks for the link.
Amazing to contemplate we live in an era where these satellites are always
staring at the Sun and able to capture such high resolution images and stream
the data back 24/7.
Compare the amount of that data that must be stored just in one minute compared
to the data captured by hand in those first sketches of sunspots by Galileo,
Sizzi and others in the early 1600's, only 400 years ago. If human lifetimes
could only span that long, imagine how dazzled they would be.

The green part of the video is astonishing. It looks like the filament goes flying off like a scab (for lack of a better term), and the sun instantly starts trying to repair the 'wound'.
