I love the depth of it, but a question: did you "tone down" the star field? I haven't imaged the Trifid for a LONG while now but seem to remember a lot more of a star field.
The depth and clarity of the nebulosity is amazing, right down to the tiny tendrils of H-a nebulosity around a lower star.
I really like that image. A natural and well balanced representation of this object. Well done
Paul.
Thanks Paul.

Lewis,
I used a morphological transformation in PI to slightly reduce the star sizes to make the background nebulosity more apparent.

Cam,
The pixelmath used to process the Lagoon image was also used here.

Hi Steven,
Another fine image from the BRC-250 scope.
It's really performing well - sharp stars right to the corners.
The detail at the center shows you had good seeing & were able to take full advantage of it.
The processing looks very natural.

Thank you Allan.
The image has been rotated and heavily cropped, but the original is reasonably flat.
Issues with elongated stars is due to flexure rather than the BRC-250 optics. The STXL-11002 is a very heavy camera.
