Reprocessing some old shots

G'day,

hardly any clear skies in melbourne for a few months, and still struggling getting my EQ8 system up and running (mainly due to weather, plus new everything and time). I have gone back to reprocess some old photos to get my astro fix, its good to see that i've improved processing. it would be scary if i hadn't.

some of the captures were from my first attempts at astrophotography (and done at iso 6400, noisy and hardly any subs), so its nice to go back and improve them.

12" Goto Dob.
canon 600d.
DSS and CS6

Eagle, Swan and Triffid, @ iso 6400, ~ 20sec subs, not many - old data.

Centaurus & M83 @iso 3200, MPCC coma corrector, camera astromodified, 20 sec subs.

Better views at http://www.flickr.com/photos/80336656@N07/ and also some of the older versions on there too.

Clear skies and have a good w'end

Rusty

WOW Russel, damn nice work. I've got the same equipment I might have to give it a go myself.

A very tidy collection of shots Russel. Hard to pick a favourite. I like them all. Well done.

Hi Russell,

That's good!

You really got a lot out of such short exposures.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Marc, yep not bad for a dob, i do think the newer ones are much better captures - which is to be expected. I could've probably done a sidebyside comparo of my old processing results but in the end they weren't really posting!

Thanks Justin - yes quite limiting being stuck at max 20 seconds. Can't wait to get the EQ8 up and running
