I see, according to Astronomy 2013, that Mars has a date with the Beehive Cluster on the 9th September...photo op or not?

Looks a bit low. You would need a very low eastern view.

At 04:45° above the Eastern Horizon here in Queensland,which will be coming into dawn, so not a good opportunity.

Why can't I edit my post,all I get is a blank page ???
I can't even delete it as there is nothing to delete.

It should read,At 04:45 it will be 9° above the Eastern Horizon here in Queensland,which will be coming into dawn, so not a good opportunity.

On the 8th and 9th September we have another wonderful event worthy of a photo op!

Facing west- Venus, Spica, the thin crescent Moon, Saturn and Mercury (just peeping above the horizon), all in a glorious ragged line.

Not sure If I should try a wide field shot,-I'll have to travel for that.Or just use the 70-200 on mount-already set up to go at home.
