NGC 6992 lunchtime hack of Astrofest data

i will redo this one later when i can use PI - i just did a lunchtime process using PS and without DBE and other nice things. its a crop and its Cr@p

just shows what the right tools in the wrong hands will produce

taken with the nightscape celestron excuse for a CCD and hyperstar setup that i had at astrofest. i think its about 2hrs of 150sec exposures

EDIT ADDED REPRO

A fine image for a quick lunchtime hack, David. Would be keen to see the end result when you spend more time on the data set. The hyperstar set up looks the goods.

well thats pretty detailed for a quick go, wouldnt complain about that. When you use PI, also have some sticks handy to poke into your eye, its a lot less painfull and pleasent relief.

i hope so - i have more data and i think i got a total of about 5 hours but with the mount going trippy i think that that there will be some data lost, the 3.35 bug

sharp sticks, acid, hot poker, rabid dogs, fleas and for good measure the Vienna boys choir but it will be fun

now here is the trick, i used that stupid celestron astrofx programme to stack it and it gives me a colour tiff file but the moment i put it into PI via a fits file i loose the colour? i am wondering if it is a bayer matrix thingy?

OK here is the first PI repro - touched up a little in PS but it was hard to get a size for uploading here on IIS - had to use39% of a 950 pixel image - I have other data to add
