2010 Snowy Ride Photos

I'm just back from 4 days in the Snowy Mountains. My brother and I and our partners took part in the Snowy Ride for the Steve Walter Foundation to raise money for cancer research.

3280 riders took part () and I must say I was impressed with the way the event was organised. There was just no fuss or bother at any checkpoints. It was thoroughly enjoyable. I have heaps of photos of motorbikes, but I thought I'd just quickly post a few more general shots for your enjoyment.

1. The unit we stayed in at Lake Crackenback Resort.
2. A bridge at Lake Crackenback.
3. More Lake Crackenback.
4. Dead tree at Lake Crackenback.
5. A blue Goldwing amongst bikes of all sorts (Berridale Checkpoint)
6. A Can Am Spyder at Thredbo.
7. The front row and a bit of bikes assembling for the mass ride into Thredbo on Saturday arvo. This is just the tiniest fraction of the bikes there!
8. Snow gums at Charlotte Pass.

Thanks Adam. I'd like to take a bit more time if I do it again, and cover more of the mountain roads, and maybe take 2 days to get there via the Tumut side instead of down the Monaro (Its too straight and boring).

It was a lot of fun. I expected it to be pretty congested, and a bit of a test of patience with such big crowds, but it wasn't. I still can't get over that.

No bugs in teeth... plenty on the front of my visor though! (because I ride a real bike without a windscreen).

Here's a couple of quick panoramas from Charlotte Pass... just assembled from the JPegs ATM. I'll process the RAWs later.
