Thanks for sharing the link to the article, wouldn't it be nice to have an 36" in your ( big ) back yard, seriously, it would be fantastic to get an eyeball through a scope that size. Something like 47 Tuc would be quite pretty.
I would lay a bet that a well ventilated 24" F4 scope outside the dome would show off the 'show' objects better and show fainter stars and be a hell of a lot more user friendly . Size aint everything This scope looks like a vision from the 1950's.

Good to hear Mark, because I'm convinced that is the scope in my future - probably a little shorter fl so I can keep my feet firmly on the ground.
Hi Eric - I think 24" F3 are still a work in progress commercially but when they 'get there' they will tick most boxes for portability and user friendliness.
