Feathertouch USB Microtouch timeout

The other night I had the chance to use the Wireless Microtouch with Feathertouch focuser.
I found often that after a period of no use the unit would timeout and I had to unplug and replug the usb cable and connect to get functionality back.

Im using Windows 7, and this is the first time of use so Im not sure if this is a Windows 7 issue or a feature of Microtouch?

Has anyone come across this?

Thanks Robin, that makes sense ad might do the trick
Come to think of it I've noticed this when the computer is idle and the mouse won't immediately respond which seems to be the same thing.

I'll give this a go now.
