Just spent a small fortune updating the PC after a major crash which saw a new MB, Ram (12GB

) and CPU installed along with a whole lot of other stuff. Installed windas 7 and have been having loads of fun trying to get the thing to run properly

. I have (touch wood) solved most of the gliches but one sod remains. When I plug in my USB drive it is detected (auto detect comes up) but as soon as I try to copy something to or from the device windas freezes. Boy this program crashes hard and I wouldn't want to do too many manual shut downs. I have read just about every possible tech article/web forum I can get my hands on and it appears to be a problem between windas 7 and a number of mass storage USB devices. Most problems seemed to be around a particular chip set but mine is intel ??? I have updated the bios, chipset drivers etc etc but the problem persists. I can open the device on my win 7 laptop and any other computer I have plugged it into (win 7 PC's included). Why not this one? Any ideas? I have tried a heap of other USB sticks, some work ok, some work once then cannot be accessed whilst some will not work at all.
