This is such a Good Web Site

This is such a Good Web Site, I love visiting here.

The people are so friendly and helpful.
Mike you must be so proud of this little baby of yours.

Sure some of the General Threads get a bit passionate, but in the end we are all in this together because we share (at least) one fantastic love, and generally peace prevails.

And OK there may be Topics that I don't want to discuss, but as was said elsewhere, I choose not to look there.

Pity the poor moderators who have to read every thread (or post) or whatever.

It would be a shame to limit the general forum to only Astro stuff.
Then would we hear about the Fantastic P!NK Concert from Jen? No.
And other cool stuff that is fun to discuss with intelligent beings who we know and respect from the Astronomy stuff, but it is nice to get a bit closer to the full persona that comes out in some of this "off topic" stuff.

Then there are some really funny posts that just break up the tension and put a smile on your dial in the midst of the clouds.

Thanks Mike.
This is still the Bestest Place to be.
Hope it stays like that for a long time my friend.

Thanks Allan.

There's NO intention to stop off-topic posts in general chat. Like you said, it helps us get to know each other better.

There are some topics that are best avoided on IceInSpace, and are best held at places specifically setup to discuss those topics.

My only problem with IIS is that I spend much too much time on this forum.

Nicely said Allan, like Jen, I also agree with all your comments.

Thanks Mike for IIS, a great source of information.
Richard
