Jupiter

Hi
Just been experimenting with some data collected on the 18th August. Wesley’s impact mark is still visible!

Scope: 235mm sct

Looking good Troy,

Hans Mettig has been producing lots of Polar projections from various imagers data but I haven't seen it done as an animation. If I ever get through my backlog of Jupiter data I would love to set aside some time to learn how to do this.

Cheers
Trevor

Thanks all for your comments
Quark when time allows I want to combine some old pictures of Wesley's impact site (WIS) with the recent stuff I have. I used the same program I think as Hans which is WinJupos to do the polar projections. If you would like more details let me know.

Thanks Troy, I have had Winjupos for some time but have done very little with it. I have been inspired by your animation, so a couple of hours ago I downloaded a tutorial on Winjupos. It is much simpler than I thought it would be to produce a polar projection, so over the weekend I plan on turning my high res animation from Aug 17th into a polar projection animation.

Hi Greg,
The Skynyx 2-0 mono camera has been great. It's a bit more sensitive and lower in noise compared to other planetary cameras around except for the dragonfly 2 which Bird has been getting fantastic results with. Here is a frame out of the animation. This picture is the second best result that I have been able to achieve this Jupiter season.
