Got a clear view this morning, quite unexpectedly and after weeks of cloud.
A brighter version of the IR shot gives an idea of the cusp extensions - not much different from yesterday as per RichardJ's images.
This will be a wide conjunction. I expect no annular phase but perhaps a 75% complete ring for whoever manages to see it on Sunday. Full circle won't happen again until 2028.

Just returned home from our summer break, which included a 5-hour Venus session with the 8" Cass at 1,600m. I'll post results whern I've had a chance to process the results but I can already see that excursion yielded some interesting data to say the least...
