Looking to sell my QHY183C camera. Is a great camera especially for those starting in astrophotography. I’ve had it for about 18 months and it hasn’t missed a beat. I’ve also had some great shots take with my C6 hyperstar setup. It remains in great condition with its original box and accessories..

Well thanks. I bought the camera for over double what I’m asking so keen to stick to a min of $700.

One last stab at $650. After that it goes back in the kit bag. Just a reminder that it’s an actively cooled 20mp one shot colour camera. I’m only looking to move it on because I now have an apsc sized camera.

Looking at your QHY 183c just now,
I am new to Astro cameras.
I have only briefly started using a Canon 60D with my old Vixen refractor ED80 600mm focal and am looking move into a proper Astro camera soonish.

Would your camera be a good match?

A quick reply for Trevor:

I dropped the camera and telescope into the 'CCD Suitability calculator' (see https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_suitability) and it came up as OK.

Just be warned that the '183 devices can be a bit tricky to get working properly (optimal gain / offset / temperature) and you'll need to use calibration frames (especially darks) to get the best out of it.
