Returning to the hobby.

Years ago I was knee deep in the hobby, but I've been out of it for a few years. After lurking for the past 12 months, I have dipped my toes back in the water with an order to Peter at SDM Telescopes.

In the meantime it will be a long wait so I have a Canon 1500d and considering a secondhand GSO/Bintel/Skywatcher dob 10 or 12" just to keep me going over the next few months.

I'm going to go back to basics with the camera and relearn some widefield/star trails imaging on a tripod. I'm in country Vic so I'm not far from some decent skies.

Anyways, hope to relearn everything I've forgotten.

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

Welcome back to the hobby.

Can I please ask what focal length and mirror maker for your SDM scope?

You are lucky you have dark skies unlike being in metro Melb.

I love my SDM scopes.
