Can anyone suggest a simple external battery solution for running a Canon 40D? I intend to head bush in the next month or so, my aim to shoot both day and night time-lapse footage. Will be unable to charge batteries for a week or more...
Rig up some sort of Solar charger option ?
When you say 'head bush' will you be in a vehicle or trekking ?
Any battery option that could last a week or more is going to be big and heavy.
Hi Brent,
Yes I will be trekking.I will be pulling a cart which will carry all my gear.
Im leaning towards a 12v system(small motorcycle battery, or portable
jumper start battery) coupled with a converter which takes 12v to 7.4v
Was hoping that someone out there may have used something similar...
Bunnings had some solar charger panels which will keep a battery topped. Designed for car\boat use. About $30 over here in NZ. Tie one to the top of your cart. You may be able to find an automotive voltage reg that normally plugs into the Cig lighter plug and has an adjustable voltage output. Used to have one somewhere but can't find it now. Put out 5 v, 6v, 8v, 9v or similar with slide switch on the side to select.
